Jonas Rannila (b. 1989) is Conductor and Artistic Director of the Opera BOX company and the Helsinki Philharmonic Choir. Rannila has a broad experience of different tasks within opera and he is a sought-after conductor for various opera productions. Rannila has studied orchestral conducting in Helsinki and Leipzig with, i.a., prof. Roland Börger, prof. Leif Segerstam, GMD Florian Ludwig and prof. Barbara Rucha. Rannila holds a degree in choral conducting from the Sibelius Academy. His professors have included i.a. prof. Matti Hyökki and prof. Nils Schweckendiek. Rannila's extensive musical studies are supported by his piano, oboe and voice studies. In addition to studying at the Sibelius-Academy Rannila has also studied both choral and orchestral conducting in Leipzig.
